Trier helau!

Yesterday I was woken by extremely loud music. I was surprised since my neighbours are usually very retaining when it comes to noise. Except for Saturday mornings - apparently that means "drum time" next door.

However, when I had a look out of my window, it became clear: It was Rosenmontag (Carnival Monday) and the carnival procession was preparing to start moving - right in front of my window! I could not help but took some pictures to give you an idea...

I still have not been able to figure out why there are always so many girls in uniform...

...a star ship...
...a castle...

...(bloody) pirates...
...one of those awful "carnival societies"...
...a wine truck...
...another ship...

...and lots more! The street looks empty, but that is only because it was not actually part of the procession route - only the preparations were made there. Further down the streets, there were a lot of people!
