No news is no good!

It seems like I have something important on my mind, since this is my third post today. If anyone has wondered how my studies are going - well, actually I am going through a very busy period. This morning I did the mid-term exam in the Japanese language class. I had been sitting at home all weekend memorising the vocabulary we have learnt so far. It is quite silly - I can write down "agricultural products" and "New Year's pine" in Japanese, but when it comes to such basic words as "important", I am lost. "Important" appeared in the exam where we had to translate some sentences from German into Japanese and I realized that we never learnt the Japanese word for "important". Anyway, the grammar is what was most difficult since the sentences had the most complicated structures they could possibly have had. I am not expecting a particularly good mark, I am only hoping that I passed...

As for English studies, I am going to sit an English exam, which is a requirement for the intermediate examination of the subject "Anglistik", this Friday. The so-called "Sprachklausur" reviews basic skills such as grammar, listening comprehension, essay writing, phonetics, translation a.s.o. It is nothing I can really prepare for in the short term. Many people are said to fail this exam...
